Swatches, Swatches, and MORE SWATCHES!

Hellooooo there!

Alright, so here I am with more swatches for you all! This post is going to have swatches of drug store AND indie polishes! :) Well. One drugstore. The rest are indies! I promised myself I would go on a no-buy until I had at least swatched all the polishes I had purchased from indie brands and my mini Walmart haul. So when I went to Sally's today, I didn't feel AS bad about buying 6 more polishes. I'll be going back tomorrow for a few more from the Brazil collection. I have pictures up on my instagram of the polishes I bought today. So you can head over there to check it out. I'll be posting a Facebook page as well, so head on over and "like" that page for constant updates from me!

Let's get to the swatches!

This is Mentality Polish in Requested. This is a GORGEOUS teal holo that seriously captured me as soon as I saw it. This was my first indie polish purchase EVER, along with Rachel (previously posted). The holo glitters in this is beyond beautiful when the sun hits it. It's so easy to apply. This is two full coats, and I had no issues with streaking at all. I did not use top coat in any of my swatch pictures because I didn't want to waste my seche vite. The last picture with this polish is also showing another one of my first indie polish purchases. The last picture is two coats of Requested, and two coats of Pointe Shoes and Tutus from Gypsyanna Polish on my middle and ring fingers. It's an adorable polish with green and pink pastel circle glitters in a clear base. I had kept the bottle upside down, so I never had any fishing issues. The circles went on really easily, and this polish would be IDEAL for an easy dotticure! :)

Here to represent the drugstore polish brands is Sally Hansen X-Treme Wear in Pacific Blue. I had heard SO SO SO much about this polish from beauty bloggers and YouTubers and instagrammers all saying that they LOVED this blue and it was a must have. So of course, when I saw the LAST BOTTLE of it at Walmart… Darn skippy I picked this baby up. And I am beyond happy that I did. This is seriously the most gorgeous blue creme I've come across in awhile. It goes on so smoothly and JUST BARELY required two coats. I usually don't fall in love with blues like this, but this is definitely one of my top 10 favorite polishes right now. Just look at her! She's so beautiful...

This is ANOTHER Mentality Polish. (Is it obvious that I love these polishes?) This beauty is Kablooey. It's a dark grey holo with the most gorgeous shimmer. I love the holos from Mentality Polish. The prices are MORE than affordable, which makes my addiction so much harder to control. :( This grey is so seriously stunning. I love wearing these holos in the sunlight, because it makes my heart so happy. I can't wait until all this HORRID snow goes away and summer comes back so I can get some killer shots of these babies! This is three full coats, just because I couldn't stop myself from slathering this all over my phalanges! hahaha ;)

And last but not least for today, my last Mentality Polish. This is Orgasmic. And my goodness the name fits. This polish is a STUNNER. This is three full coats and it's completely opaque. The holo in this baby is seriously jaw dropping. I think I'll just let these pictures speak for themselves! :)

Alright everyone! That's it for now, but I'll hopefully be able to get another post up for you tomorrow!

Don't forget to go like my page on Facebook and follow me on Instagram! Once I hit 500 followers on Instagram, I'll be doing a giveaway! So tell your friends and share my page!

Thank you all SO much for reading and all the support! It does NOT go unnoticed!

Different Dimension/Mentality Polish

Hey all! I am terribly sorry for being MIA. =/ Work had me super exhausted, and I've been doing nothing but watching Modern Family when I get home. But I'm here now! :) And with SWATCHES!

The polishes I used are from Mentality Nail Polish and Different Dimension Polish. :) So let's see these beauties!

Alright so we ALL already know I am in love with both of these brands. These polishes are no different. The blue is Rachel from Mentality, and the glitter is Love is an Open Door from Different Dimension. This is three coats of Rachel, two coats of OPI Alpine Snow (the white) and two coats of LIAOD. I had NO fishing issues AT ALL with the glitters, and I didn't even need to turn the bottle upside down. This glitter is so amazing with the Mickey heads and white and silver hearts, blue circle glitters, moons, and stars! It's so full of glitters and I LOVE IT. I'm already wearing it again with white! Rachel is a crelly that goes on STUNNINGLY with three thin coats, just like the rest of the Mentality polishes! So keep an eye out for more polishes from these two brands in the days to come with more swatches!

Thanks for reading!

Quick Update!

Hello friends!

So I know I've been slackin' on the swatches lately, but they ARE coming! I have actually been sick yesterday and today (my immune system sucks) which has given me a lot of time to sit around and get a lot of this stuff done. So all day yesterday, I swatched my little fingers off. I got ALL of my nail mail swatches completely done. So today was all about watermarking. There were SO many pictures to watermark and they all have to be done individually. So that took me literally all day long. But, good news! They're ALL done, and I'll be posting one or two swatches per day for the next… Well, till I'm all out of swatches! I'll also be painting my nails as always, so maybe I'll share a few mani's with you as well! ;)

But tonight, I'm seriously exhausted and I just don't have the real energy to go into any serious depth about polishes and my reviews, so I'm just going to give you guys some shots of my mani's that I've worn this weekend. There's only two, but it's better than nothing, right?!

glow shot!

This is Different Dimension True Love's Kiss (glitter) and Give Me Love (pink). I used OPI's Alpine Snow for the white and a tape stencil for the heart :)

This is Cult Nails Boneyards again, as well as Foolish Hearts from Loaded Lacquer. I used a thin coat of Kablooey from Mentality Polish over Boneyards to give it this gorgeous holo look!

Sun shot!

I tried to capture the holo as best I could, but the dreary rainy day just wasn't being friendly.

You can see the holo a bit better here!

Alright, well that's all I have for you today. I'll have some swatches up for you tomorrow! See you then!

Oh My Glitter!

Helloooo there!

Wow. Okay. So I just checked my blog e-mail (because the past two days have been very intense with football related festivities) and I found out that Shawna from On A Chalkboard has nominated me for a Liebster Award! Thank you SO much! I don't think I've ever been nominated for anything in my life… Crazy! Well, I read her post and since I'm still super new to this whole blogging thing, I'm going to try super hard to do this right! So here it goes!

Heres the rules!

1. Share the name and a blog link to the person who so graciously nominated you. Thank you again to the amazing Shawna who is kindly linked above :)

2. Display the Liebster Award widget on the side of your blog. This will be put up as soon as I'm all done posting this! (if I can figure it out…)

3. Answer the 11 questions set by the blogger who nominated you

4. Provide 11 random facts about yourself.

5. Nominate 5-11 of your favorite bloggers, who have less than 200 followers - share the love!

6. Make 11 questions, that you have been dying to ask, for your nominees.

7. Inform the people/blogs that you nominated that they have been nominated for the Liebster award and provide a link for them to your post so that they can learn about it (they might not have ever heard of it, like me!)

8.Post the rules.

My nominees are…

Jennifer from LacqueredMama
Rory from NailHigh
Becky from Pause for Polish
Julie from Short And Sweet in Texas (i know this is KIND of cheating, cause she has 236 followers… but whatever. I'm a rule breaker.)
Emma from Imagination in Color

My questions for these lovely ladies are:

1. Who is your biggest nail-spiration? (Blogger, instagrammer…etc)
2. What is your favorite prop to pose with, and why?
3. If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
4. What is your favorite ice cream flavor and brand?
5. Which Disney princess is your favorite and why?
6. Best nail polish find you've ever had?
7. What song comes on and you just can't resist dancing?
8. If you were stranded on a desert island and you could only bring 5 things, what would those items be and why would you bring them?
9. If you could have dinner with any famous person (dead or alive), who would it be and why?
10. Whats your favorite and least favorite nail polish brands?
11. What is your go-to polish color that you always end up having the most of?

Here are Shawna's questions for me!

1. What inspired you to start a blog?

Well, honestly? I talk A LOT in real life. I can seriously never shut up. I end up repeating things I've already said over and over, and my friends and family get super tired listening to me ramble on about a new polish I've gotten. So when I realized there were THOUSANDS of people out there who actually WANTED to talk about polish?! I decided the best place for it was a blog, where I can say what I want, and talk about what I wanted, which of course- is always polish!

2. If you could get any nail polish that your heart desired, what would it be?
Wow… You're killing me on this one. I totally have a wish list of JUST indie polishes that's about 60 items long, so…! But… I think I may have to choose Steel Town Girl from WingDustCollections.
3. What was your favourite beauty trend of 2013?
Lipstick. The bright, vivid lips. I have always been terrified of anything other than sheer gloss, and finally I just manned up and bought the brightest pink from the Maybelline Vivids collection and wore it to school. I got SO many complements that I literally went back and bought every single shade from that collection. I now feel so naked without my lipstick.

4. What do you think will be the newest 2014 beauty trend?
Wow, I don't even know. I don't really follow beauty trends much. But I think the pixie cut with stay pretty strong, if not get stronger. We kinda ended 2013 with the pixie getting really popular, and I just think it'll take completely over in 2014.

5. What is the longest amount of time that you have spent doing your makeup or your nails?
This isn't really a fair question, because I am the biggest procrastinator. If I have time to mess around, I will use it. If I'm home on the weekends and I have a date on Saturday night at 8, I'll start getting ready at 2. I'll put some foundation on, then get distracted watching Disney movies. Then put on some concealer… Watch more Disney. Next thing I know its 7 and I still haven't done my eyes yet. But I have spent a full 6 hours doing my nails. =/ I am extremely OCD so I have a hard time doing dotticures because if the dots don't look right to me, I'll redo the whole nail. It literally took me 6 hours to do my Mickey/Minnie mani thats on my instagram. Let me tell you… INTENSE.

6. What is a blog goal that you are striving to reach this year?
I haven't really set any goals for myself just yet. I just recently got into blogging and instagramming my nail art and stuff within maybe the past month, so just getting more than 30 page views on one post I think would be nice!

7. How many bottles of nail polish do you own?
Well… Last time I counted, which was over a year ago (due to horrible lack of storage space and poor organization) I had 217. But I have accrued SO many more, that I'm probably due for a recount!

8. When you aren't blogging, what can you be found doing?
Sleeping, eating, reading, playing with Meghan (my goddaughter), or watching TV. I live such an exciting life.

9. Which movie do you think will win the Oscar for "Best Picture"?
I'm not sure who will win, but I really think Wolf of Wallstreet deserves it. If I HAD to make a guess as to who the winner will be… I'd guess Captain Phillips. Just because the movie I don't want to win usually wins. My only request is that Her does NOT win. Dumbest. Movie. Plot. Ever.

10. What one beauty product can you not say no to?
I'm pretty sure we all know that's nail polish.

11. Give me your number 1, must-read book suggestion.
The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. This book seriously made my want to rip out my own heart to stop it from hurting. I bawled my ever-loving eyes out. WARNING: Have tissues on-hand, because you never know when a wave may hit.

Anddddd 11 random facts about me to finish off this long, lovely post!
1. I am an animal addict. I swear, if I lived alone and had the space, I'd have almost one of every thing. I cannot be brought into a pet store because I want to take home ALL the pets. Except the snakes. Can't have that.
2. I still watch Spongebob, and I still find episodes I haven't seen.
3. I am a DIE HARD Steelers fan. Because my boyfriend in 6th grade told me to be. I am now a bigger fan than he is.
4. I'm a retail-therapy shopper. Some people eat to feel better. I shop. It's way more dangerous than eating.
5. I'm terrified of failing. I had started a blog before, and stopped doing it after about 4 posts. School kept me busy and I just felt like nobody cared about what I had to say. I was also scared to ASK anybody to read it, so I just gave up.
6. I hate my feet.
7. I sleep in an L shape.
8. I named my cat Sheldon after Sheldon Cooper on the Big Bang Theory
9. I love opening things. it doesn't matter what it is. I don't discriminate. I just love opening things. Envelopes, boxes, presents…. Anything that comes in the mail, really.
10. When I was REALLY little, I thought post cards from the public library's gift shop were free, so I stole them on accident. When my mom found out, she took me back to the library and made me give them back and say sorry.
11. I hate odd numbers. So ending all of these with 11 is KILLING me.

Alright, well thats it! Hope you all enjoyed reading, and I hope you all enjoy the ladies I have tagged!!

Cult Nails & Loaded Lacquer Polishes

Hey everyone! So I'm home for this afternoon due to unfortunate circumstances. I was on my way back to work when my car started to feel like it was stalling (even though I drive an automatic), or like my tires were losing traction. I didn't panic too bad, because we HAVE had some icy/snowy conditions, so I assumed it was just an ice patch. Well then my "engine malfunction" light came on and started flashing at me! I've never seen that, so I started freaking out. I pulled over, called out of work, had a panic attack, and then took it to a shop. Its still there, waiting to be tested so we can know what happened.

Which has lead me here. I had done my nails on lunch using one of my new Cult polishes, figuring I'd take pictures and post them later after work. So in the process of my panic attack, in order to calm myself down, as ANY normal polish addict would, I began taking pictures of my new mani using natural light. So thank goodness for polish and iPhones.

I have decided not to let such a scary incident effect my whole afternoon and waste it. So I have decided to post on here for you all! So something good WILL come of this! :)

Let's get right to it.

Alright. This is one of my first EVER Cult polishes and I'm SLIGHTLY disappointed. Now, not because its not a gorgeous grey, but because their "one and done" type slogan did not really come through on this polish. The first coat went on very streaky, and it definitely required two coats. This color is Boneyards, and the gorgeous glitter from Loaded Lacquer in Foolish Hearts. Boneyards is a very pretty deep blue toned grey, and was very easy to apply. No more than two coats were necessary. Foolish Hearts is a lovely glitter containing white, purple, and black hearts & round glitters as well as some rainbow rounds as well in a clear base. I always store my heavy glitter polishes like these upside down so I don't have any fishing problems. These photos were two coats of each polish with one coat of SecheVite.

All in all, I really do love both of these polishes. Boneyards may be my new favorite grey polish, and Foolish Hearts is definitely one of the best "Anti-Valentine's Day" polishes I've seen, while still keeping it girly and fun. I would MORE than suggest these brands/polishes to anyone!!

Well, thats all I have for you today! I probably will not be able to do another update until about Saturday night or Monday night. I know Sunday isn't going to happen, because I'll be busy watching the Superbowl! So until then, my dears. <3

Indies Galore!- Eighty4 and Different Dimension

Hello my loves!

So I had the day off today (yay??) due to snow (yes, again.) So I decided I'd watermark some of the images I already had taken and posted to instagram of a few mani's I'd done lately. So that's what I'll be posting today, so all of you can see them too. Even if you've already seen them, I'll probably explain a little more about what polishes I used and my thoughts on them and such! I also received most of my nail mail (still waiting on one more) so I took a picture of most of them and I'll post that here for you too!

Here are MOST of the polishes I've gotten.
If you have a question about any specific polish's name before I get a chance to swatch it, just leave your question in the comments and I'll be sure to get back to you! Just be sure to let me know which one it is. (Middle row, 4th one, etc…)
These are NOT all the polishes. I have 4 others I bought from Walmart, as well as two other Mentality polishes, two Gypsyanna polishes, two PolishedColors polishes, and three Cult polishes, so all of those will EVENTUALLY be swatched for your delight! :)

So let's get started with the manis! I'll give you some "throwbacks" first ;)
So this mani is OPI Mod About You with Essie's Shine Of The Times as a topper on the accent nail. I'm so super in love with Mod About You, I've literally bought two bottles already. It's the most perfect creamy pink that makes me feel like a princess. And of course, Shine Of The Times is a classic ;) You really can't go wrong with a simple, girly mani!

For about two weeks, I was sticking to simple mani's because I was waiting on all this nail mail and I didn't wanna fall super in love with a mani, and then have to either put off using my indie polishes or get sad taking off the mani. :( So I kept it simple. This is Essie's Pink About It and my accent nail is Wet n Wild Hannah Pink-tana. I used three FULL coats of Pink About it, because it goes on pretty sheer. It has a GORGEOUS golden shimmer to it, but its VERY hard to photograph. :( But Hannah Pink-Tana goes on really well, with FULL gorgeous coverage in two-three coats. It has a stunning holo shimmer to it that is seriously insane in the sun. You can head over to my instagram to see it a bit closer!

This was literally two nights before my NailVinyls from Linda (@teismom) came in the mail. I wanted so badly to do a chevron mani, so I literally cut up some painters tape in the chevron shape and used that. It went pretty well, but hand-cutting it was a HUGE pain. This is Essie Blanc, Licorice, and Bikini So Teeny. The silver is a combination of two polishes, one of which is my ABSOLUTE favorite silver glitter polish, Sinful Colors in Queen of Beauty. It goes on in about two coats for almost full coverage. You can't really SEE the spots where its not fully covered, so it works just as well for me. Over top that is a no-name polish that I've had for YEARS and the brand name has worn off the bottle. (I believe its a franken I made years ago.) I used a dotting tool for the dots.

So on to the most recent mani's and swatchessss!

For this mani, I used two Different Dimension polishes. The gorgeous hot pink is Give Me Love, which is a stunning, creamy pink with a golden shimmer. And as you can see pictured above, IT GLOWS IN THE DARK. I cannot tell you how truly excited I became when I realized this. It was like a kid on Christmas. The color I used on my middle and ring finger is called On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink. I am, of course, a DIE HARD Mean Girls fan so the name sold me before I even looked at swatches. Its a creamy light pink base with red and pink glitters, and goes on with complete coverage with about two coats. I used three, but that's because I always go for the overkill. It's a problem. No judging please. ;) But I really do love both of these polishes. They weren't super difficult to get off either. So big plus there! I definitely began a very dangerous love affair with Different Dimension polishes as soon as these babies were on my phalanges.

And here… Here is the mani that is going to push back my swatching.
This is, again, Give Me Love used on all of my fingers, and Different Dimension's limited edition Valentine's Day polish in True Loves Kiss. Only 50 bottles were made, and I got number 1. I cannot even tell you how excited THAT made me! :) Different Dimension has released 5 polishes for Valentine's Day to be sold individually, but I wanted them all SO badly, that the wonderful creator Missi put them in a set for me! She's the sweetest, so I definitely suggest you head over and check out her polishes at www.differentdimension.us
True Loves Kiss is one of my new favorite polishes. I can easily see myself doing this mani OFTEN. Its a clear base with pink hearts in different shades, circular glitters in varying colors and shades, as well as some stars and mickey glitters too! I turned the bottle upside down the night before I used it, so the glitters had PLENTY of time to get to the top/middle of the bottle, making application easier. I used two coats of seche vite to prevent any of the glitters from sticking up.

Here is Eighty4's Citrine. I bought this because I'm a November baby, and I normally HATE my birthstone. But once I saw this, I seriously loved it. This is such a gorgeous orange/gold glitter. It goes on with complete coverage in about two coats. I used one coat of seche vite on top. I could NOT stop looking at my nails when I had this on. I got so many questions and compliments on this polish. When the sunlight hits it?! Ugh. BE STILL, MY BEATING HEART.

And last but not least, this is Gypsyanna's But Daddy, I Love Him!
Okay. I saw a swatch of this polish on Bryanna's instagram. And I fell in love. That was it for me. I bought it. It was SO worth it. This three full coats (because I just kept wanting to plop more of it on, two coats will do just fine!) over Essie's Trophy Wife. Its got gorgeous silver stars and purple and blue glitters in a clear base. This is definitely super gorgeous over teals, even purples and blues! This was OFFICIALLY my first indie polish purchase EVER, along with Pointe Shoes and Tutus. I can definitely say I'm happy with my purchase!

So before I bid you farewell, I just want to remind you of the sale going on over at bornprettystore.com on their nail decals! Everyone should hurry on over and check it out before they're gone!

Well, that's it for tonight!
Hope you liked it, and feel free to leave any questions in the comments section! Or just feel free to leave me some love!!
